I’ve been away and now I am back. What’s new? Well, we are off to Japan on February 4 till the 16th. We haven’t been there in a while. I didn’t realize how much I missed the culture until we were told that we had some dates there. For me it is very liberating to be in a country where you don’t speak the language nor understand the symbols used as the written form. It forces me to pay closer attention to things. My awareness of the tone of people’s voices, the look in their eyes, the way they move their bodies, has to be in high gear or I’ll miss something. Whenever I return home from a trip like that, my surroundings stand out and I notice things that I’ve taken for granted. I’d like to leave you with a quote I received today that I thought was quite interesting enough to share.
“Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when his neck is out.” James Bryant Conant
